Changing Guitar Strings
I thought I should make a little guide on how you change your guitar strings. This can be a little complicated for some people and I think a guide would be beneficial for you. Once you do this a few times, than it will become second nature and you shouldn't have any trouble anymore. Step 1 Basically what you want to do is loosen the low E string (6th) on your guitar with a string widener. Next you'll want to snap it off with wire cutters near the tuning peg. You'll unattach the other end from the bridge. Throw old string in the garbage Step 2 Now you'll want to get out your new string and start attaching it to the guitar. You'll want to do is put the ball end in the bridge hole and replace your bridge pin. Just slowly pull on the string until you feel the ball slide into place. Step 3 You'll want to move the string up toward the head of the guitar. You'll first want to turn the tuning peg to the direction of the groove on the nut. Just put the string through the hole. Step 4 Just leave a little slack on the string while you are turning the tuning peg. Step 5 As you're wraping around the string, make sure that the string passes the end portion of the string that is sticking out from the tuning peg. Basically on the next pass you'll want the string to go under the previous wrap around. Essentially you just want things to wrap around in a neat and ordered fashion. Step 6 Now with the string in place you're going to use your wire cutter and just cut off the protruding end of the string that comes out from the tuning peg. Repeat All you have to do now is just repeat all these steps for the rest of the strings. Do only one at a time to make sure that you don't mess up. Also, since you're removing the strings you can also clean up any dirt or things of this nature.
